Daily Examen

July 29th, 2015 by Gabriel McAuliffe

As is found in our Constitutions [cf. #24] and in our Provincial Statutes [cf. #3], we Discalced Carmelite Seculars are encouraged to recite Night Prayer (or Compline) “if possible” and it is taken to be a normal daily occurrence.  Those who do so can find that the rubrics show that “a brief examination of conscience may be made.” [Liturgy of the Hours, Night Prayer].

The Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles have an helpful prayer card for the Examen available on their website, which may also be found on the set of links to the right of this page.
